These are one of my favorite appetizers. They just get gobbled up whenever I take them anywhere. I feel like June Cleaver when I make these. They just seem sorta old fashion. They are so easy and delightfully yummy!! I can just hear Eddie Haskell right now.. “Well yes, Mrs. Cleaver I would love one. “(as he stuffs 10 in his pockets) … because they are lip-smacking goodness!
Did I mention easy.. well yes. 3 big ingredients.
- Brown Sugar
So you will need about 42 rectangular butter crackers (Club, Captains, or Waverly)
¾ lb. thinly sliced bacon (about 16 slices)
and a dollop of brown sugar (light or dark).. I am not that picky y’all!
Slice the bacon into thirds crosswise. Wrap each cracker with a piece of the bacon overlapping as little as possible. Put some brown sugar (light or dark) on the bacon. This takes some careful dollopin’… but is so worth it.. try to avoid getting on the cracker…press the sugar into the bacon.
Heat oven to 250° F and stick these little yummy delights in a baking pan and bake for 1 ½ hours or until bacon is crispy. And VOILA!
- 42 butter crackers (Club, Captains, Waverly)
- 16 slices bacon (¾ lb.)
- Brown Sugar
- Preheat over to 250°
- On a baking sheet wrap each cracker with the bacon. Dollop with the brown sugar
- Bake for 1 ½ hours or until bacon is crispy.
- I suggest going ahead and doubling this.. you will go thru em’
